As an entry level MPS Data Management Specialist you'll be responsible for visiting our customers periodically to collect data on their office equipment type and usage. You will take that data and create reports to assist the sales team and ensure all contract billing information is captured. This position requires a high degree of accountability and an ability to work with varying levels of supervision. Each day will be unique, requiring an ability to prioritize, multitask, think creatively and take initiative.


Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Visiting customers to:
    • Install or coordinate installation of meter monitoring software
    • Identify networked/local printers and copiers, print configuration pages and count inventory
    • Create and upload Excel files
  • Monitor reports of non-contracted office equipment:
    • Determine devices to add to contract from remote software reporting
    • Submit reports to Contract Billing to add the equipment to the database
    • Track devices added or removed from contracts
    • Update sales team on new equipment at the customer site or usage changes
  • Maintain accurate contact information to ensure meter requests are received by customers
  • Review accounts with large disparity between contracted volume and reported volume
  • Notify the Contracts Department when meters need correction so proper action is taken
  • Notify the Contracts Department of device(s) that should be removed from contract
  • Assist in reconnecting customers who's software stopped reporting back to Carr.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Familiarity with basic computer network structure and terms
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • A high level of analytical ability, data entry accuracy, and focus on data integrity is required
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include verbal and written communication
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work under a fast paced environment

Experience Requirements:

  • 1+ years experience working with customers.

Preferred but not required experience in data collection, entry, analysis and reconciliation
